English for Students of English and American Studies
The aptitude test (Eignungsfeststellungsverfahren) takes place in both summer and autumn each year before the new academic year begins.The test consists of two parts:
Part 1: a thirty minute C-Test which assesses general language competence. More information on the C-Test can be found here.
Part 2: the one hour FAU Test which assesses specific English language skills in the areas of Structure, Grammar, Listening and Reading Comprehension. More information on the FAU Test can be found here.
A further component of the aptitude test is an obligatory information session which provides applicants with initial information on the structure of the degree programmes.
